Hosted by Oakland Climate Action Coalition & the City of Oakland
This Saturday morning June 15th, please join the Oakland Climate Action Coalition, Councilmember Dan Kalb and City staff at the interactive District 1 Community Workshop to share your vision and solutions for the Oakland 2030 Equitable Climate Action Plan.
The City of Oakland is developing its 2030 Equitable Climate Action Plan (ECAP) to identify how the City can equip Oaklanders (businesses and residents) to take critical actions to stop climate change, and adapt to a changing climate. Come take part in shaping this important plan, to ensure that it reflects our communities’ needs and dreams to create family-sustaining green jobs and improve our communities' health, wealth and stability in the face of the climate crisis.
The Oakland Climate Action Coalition is working with the City, in collaboration with Environmental Justice Solutions and Blue Star Integrative Studios, Inc., to ensure that Oaklanders from all walks of life meaningfully shape the 2030 ECAP. For example, we need to shift to clean energy as rapidly as possible to reach our climate targets. What can the City do to make that shift easier for residents and businesses, to minimize the burden of doing so on frontline communities, and to ensure that shifting away from natural gas use can lead to good, local, green jobs?
