Part-time Communications and Program Coordinator
The NorCal Resilience Network is looking for a part-time Communications and Program Coordinator passionate about communications, community organizing, permaculture and movement building. The Communications and Program Coordinator will work part-time (12-14 hours/week) out of our downtown Oakland coworking office space, with occasional field work. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a growing non-profit working on leading edge work in community resilience.
About the NorCal Resilience Network: The mission of the NorCal Resilience Network is to catalyze a Just Transition to an equitable and regenerative region by supporting and activating community-based and ecological solutions in Northern California. Our regional network increases capacity for grassroots projects and programs, helps to build out model sites for permaculture and resilience; and builds solidarity across divides of race, class, sector and region with organizations, businesses and leaders committed to growing thriving, resilient communities through collaboration and collective impact.
Online communications: Responsibilities include writing compelling emails, newsletter writing, social media management, and website content management.
Program support for our membership model, the Circle of Collaborators. Support will include: Monthly webinars and introductory meetings, helping to coordinate our quarterly gatherings, outreach events, including tabling and attendance at various members’ events.
Our ideal candidate would have:
- Strong writing skills and great attention to detail
- Some knowledge of website management, graphic design and database management
- Passion and understanding of working in climate justice and community organizing with under-represented communities
- Some experience with events planning, meeting facilitation and public speaking
- Flexibility and willingness to attend events that further your understanding of this field.
Salary: $1200 per month, 12-15 hours per week (with opportunities for increased hours, pending meeting our fundraising goals). Ideally, we would love to hire someone who is currently a member of our Circle of Collaborators, has a flexible schedule and/or works part-time at an environmental or social justice non-profit organization.
